Containers for Change Perth

Containers for Change Perth
2020

Featuring native flora and fauna painted on the façade of 8 Aberdeen Street Perth, my huge 40m long mural is to promote the City of Perth’s first capital city refund point as part of WARRRL’s Containers for Change WA initiative.

@4changewa is a new state-wide container deposit scheme allowing the community to cash in eligible recyclable containers for 10-cents each. You can also nominate a not-for-profit community group to donate your cash to. The scheme aims to increase recovery and recycling, reduce litter and landfill and create opportunities for employment. I’m proud to be a part of this initiative which addresses the need for more environmentally sustainable living. Head to 8 Aberdeen Street to drop off your eligible containers and check out the artwork!

Massive thanks to the awesome team at the @cityofperth for the opportunity and support, and to painting champion Sean Byford for assisting on the rollers. It’s the biggest mural I’ve delivered to date and it was satisfying bringing my concept to life. I’d love to upscale even larger and cover a whole building or a silo…
