It’s hard to pick a favourite from my latest collection. But I keep coming back to ‘This Is the Idea’. The simplicity of the black and yellow colour palette creates a dynamic interplay, hinting at the complexities in the layers, creating contrast. The vibrant yellow symbolises the birth of an idea, radiating positivity and the promise of a bright tomorrow. The ‘This is the Idea’ series explores the fluid nature of thought, not confined by boundaries or constraints. In this body of work I explore the connection and divide between my public art and studio practices. Free of client constraints, the dynamic mark making is intuitively expressive. Resisting boundaries the resulting aesthetic invites an open dialogue.

These are the largest studio paintings on canvas I’ve created and I love working at that scale. Created over several months, the works experiment between a bold punch of colour combinations to gentler pastels.
