I painted this as a matching pair with Revealed 2, but it works equally as well on its own. The title itself, 'Revealed,' offers a hint of the underlying narrative - one that is scarcely visible yet ultimately significant. The expressive and intuitive mark making is a direct reflection of my inner world, a canvas upon which thoughts and emotions are laid bare. These lines and shapes emerge as if by instinct, akin to the patterns that materialise when I close my eyes and allow my body to synchronise with the rhythm of creation. It’s a manifestation of my subconscious. The choice of graphite and pale blue as foundational elements serve a dual purpose: they create a subtle pathway for the gaze to meander, inviting exploration and discovery. The viewing journey is punctuated by the vibrant presence of fluorescent yellow, a bold hue that demands attention and illuminates the concealed layers, guiding the eye toward the heart of the painting. The bright pink oil stick injects an electrifying burst of energy. This dynamic stroke of color evokes a sense of vitality and movement. It serves as a visual exclamation point, challenging you to engage with the piece on a visceral level. Perhaps subconsciously I’ve included echos of the Neo-Expressionist movement, an artistic movement characterised by bold, emotive strokes and a rejection of traditional conventions. The painting is infused with a sense of contemporary urbanity, a reflection of the vibrant energy and visual chaos of my city life. You’re invited to embark on a journey of discovery, to peel back the layers of abstraction and explore the intricate interplay of colors, shapes, and emotions. Oceans blues and a dash of sunny orange feature in this multi-layered original abstract painting. Between the layers are hidden words, emotive marks, and evident brush strokes. All which show the vibrancy and energy which went into creating this artwork. I'm an inner-city Perth dweller and locker of street art. So it’s hard for me to resist having a spray with aerosol. The edgy black spray creates the focal point. My signature white ‘energy line’ over the top binds the layers together and creates an eye-catching, visually balanced painting.

'The church of St Mary the Virgin is a heritage building and one of Perth's finest examples of architecture in the art deco idiom. The 1930s Gothic Moderne style in which the church is built is relatively uncommon in Australia. The church is built almost entirely of reinforced concrete and is listed on the Western Australian Register of Heritage Places and on the South Perth (Central) Municipal Heritage Inventory. The church site is near the crest of the ridge of high land in South Perth and has a panoramic outlook to the west over the Swan River estuary. The monument on the church grounds was built in 1970, also of reinforced concrete, comprising a segmented tripod structure supporting a statue representing Christ.'
