Blank Walls x City of Joondalup Festival

Thanks to all involved for bringing this project together! It’s always a pleasure to work with the Blank Walls team and other creatives, painting in the public realm. With three additional new large scale pieces by different artists, the spaces have been transformed, offering an exciting level of engagement for all to enjoy.

It’s the first time l’ve painted a set of stairs with an anamorphic design which was a fun challenge. [Anamorphic art is art that appears distorted upon first glance. When that same piece of art is viewed from a particular angle, the image becomes ‘normal’. ]

‘Rise’ invites you to connect and celebrate, explore the limitless creativity on offer in the library – let your imagination soar!

The limited colour palette takes inspiration from nature, linking the site with the nearby natural surroundings (Lake Joondalup is a short stroll and a lovely spot to visit).
