Influenced in part by the ocean, which never ceases to inspire and delight. This is one of a few small paintings I’ve been working on in the studio in between big public art projects. Changing in scale from painting a 50m long mural on the road to this small canvas was a challenge. Instead of painting with a 270mm roller and using my whole body, I used tiny paint brushes, each stroke being quite deliberate. So while it is an abstraction, there are many considerations such as palette, form, scale, composition, line etc. Enjoy!
