Nature’s Embrace– ’ with Seantelle Walsh

Permanent mural installation, 2024

Commissioned for the newly redeveloped RUAH Centre for Women and Children, this collaborative mural with Seantelle Walsh offers a moment of stillness and healing within a complex and deeply human space. Titled Nature’s Embrace, the work draws inspiration from Perth’s native bushland, gently transforming an entrance and interior corridor into a calming visual sanctuary.

Soft, organic forms evoke the rhythms of the natural world, while delicate depictions of local flora and fauna provide quiet reminders of resilience, regeneration and connection. The work reflects RUAH’s curatorial vision of ‘a feeling, a knowing, a tender force’ – embodying care, inclusion and the power of visual storytelling in spaces of support and recovery.

By echoing the grounding presence of nature, Nature’s Embrace seeks to create a sense of emotional refuge and empathetic connection, honouring the courage of those who walk through the centre’s doors, and the strength that emerges when community wraps around the most vulnerable.
