Public Art That Adds Value - Delivered End-to-End

Integrated Percent-for-Art and site-specific artworks for private developments across WA.

Concept → Approvals → Fabrication → Installation

I manage the entire process and provide the documentation required for approvals.

Why Developers Work Directly With Me

Public art shouldn’t be complicated, risky or time-consuming.

I work alongside your project team to create artworks that:

  • support council approval requirements

  • integrate meaningfully with architecture and landscape

  • create identity, community connection and marketing value

  • are durable, appropriate and straightforward to maintain

I sit on local government arts advisory panels, so I understand exactly how proposals are assessed, approved and implemented. That knowledge flows directly back into the artworks I deliver.

'My role is to remove complexity and deliver artwork that adds value - both financially and aesthetically.'

What I Handle for You

You don’t just commission an artwork, you gain a project partner:

  • site review + feasibility

  • concept development + refinements

  • documentation for council / planning submissions

  • liaison with planners, architects and builders

  • materials + fabrication coordination

  • engineering and certifications where required

  • installation logistics + site safety

  • maintenance and care documentation at handover

Your job becomes simple: review, approve and we take care of the rest.

Solutions that Fit Your Project

Every site, timeline and build program is different. I develop artworks that suit the context, constraints and budget without compromising quality or intent.

Options include:

  • integrated public artworks such as architectural screens

  • sculptural and freestanding elements

  • murals + façade treatments

  • wayfinding-style creative interventions

  • creative community engagement (where appropriate)

We translate that research into practical design solutions that integrate with the build.

We supply maintenance documentation for future reference.

A clear, collaborative process without unnecessary complexity.

Percent-for-Art Made Straightforward

If your project falls under Percent-for-Art requirements, I

  • interpret relevant guidelines

  • prepare the documents required for review

  • respond to advisory feedback

  • ensure the artwork genuinely contributes to place

Because I understand the internal assessment process, I design with approval pathways in mind from the beginning.

A Note About Consultants

Many developers assume they must engage an art consultant, however in many situations this isn’t actually necessary.

I bring a high level of industry knowledge, procurement awareness and delivery experience and I am also the artist responsible for design and execution.

That means:

  • fewer layers of administration

  • clearer communication

  • and more of your budget stays where it should - in the artwork itself.

If your project calls for a different style or cultural direction (including Aboriginal artwork), I can also lead the process - engaging the right artist, managing approvals and ensuring the project remains culturally respectful and compliant.

Why I Don't Advise Paying Into 'Cash-in-Lieu' Funds

Some developers choose to pay their contribution into a council-managed fund instead of commissioning onsite artwork.

That usually means:

  • the art ends up installed somewhere else,

  • another site receives the benefit,

  • and your development loses the opportunity to create identity and value.

Investing the funds into your own site ensures the artwork works directly for your project, your residents and your future tenants. Art becomes a visible asset - not an invisible cost.

Who I Work Best With

  • small to medium developers

  • private builders

  • architects + landscape architects

  • project managers and planners

  • mixed-use, residential, civic-adjacent and commercial builds

If commissioning art has previously felt too hard or too unclear, that’s exactly what I help resolve.

Let’s Talk About Your Project

Whether you’re still planning or approaching approvals, I can advise on where art fits best -practically and creatively - and provide the documents needed for submission.
